I'm going to be heading out to Chicago for a "multi-site practicum" that's put on by the New Thing network I am very excited to see what kinds of things they have to say about the process of going multi-site. One of the things that has been amazing in the research that I've been doing is that in almost every church that goes multi-site, the addition of new sites causes both the sending site and the home site to grow. I think it has something to do with the momentum that comes when a church is actually doing the mission that God calls it to do. In "The Big Idea" they call this missional velocity. I love that concept! It communicates that as we do the mission of Jesus Christ, it creates a velocity and a momentum to continue on the path of doing the mission of Jesus Christ. It's not that it makes it easier, but it makes each church more focused on doing that one thing that God calls us to do.
I'll be writing shortly to share about 2 things:
1. What I got from reading the Big Idea (which was a ton!@)
2. What I got from going to the multi-site practicum
Stay tuned :)

Reproducing the mission of Jesus Christ
Thanks for stopping by. The goal of this page, and anything I'm involved in really, is to create the motive and opportunity for people to pursue the Jesus mission with everything they have inside of them. Beyond head knowledge of Jesus, we need to be people who are consistently helping people find their way back to God and apprenticing others to do the same. So... make it hap'n cap'n.
Writing and updates from Matt Larson, lead pastor of Anthem Church in Thousand Oaks, Ca.
